Cleaning Up as We Rebuild
Construction and rebuilding are bringing progress back to the Palisades, but they are also leaving behind litter, nails, broken signs and other debris.
The Anti Litter League is a Resilient Palisades initiative created to do something about it.
We organize neighborhood cleanups, support cleanup events led by other community groups and help neighbors take action where they live.
Our First Neighborhood Cleanup
At our first cleanup, volunteers tackled four blocks in the Alphabet Streets and collected 12 full bags of trash.
They also removed a gallon jug of nails, broken glass, metal debris, 15 damaged advertisement signs and even a microwave.
Just as important, neighbors stopped to talk, learn about the effort and thank our volunteers. It showed how much a small group of people with trash grabbers can accomplish in a single morning.
Everyone Is Welcome
You can join as an individual, family, student, school group, neighborhood group or local business.
Come to one cleanup or become a regular member of the League. No special experience is needed. We will share the location, timing and what to bring before each event.
